Submission Guidelines

Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting.

We want manuscripts that stretch beyond the world as we know it. That means fantasy and science fiction, including their various subgenres, such as urban fantasy, paranormal romance/erotica, cyberpunk, supernatural horror, and others. Don't worry about sex, gore, or foul language. While we certainly do not require these, we don't shy away from them either. Although we don't expect manuscripts to be publication-ready, we strongly recommend that your manuscript be clean enough (and in our manuscript format) to minimize distractions as we read.

We accept new, unpublished novels and novellas of at least 25,000 words. There is no maximum word count for novels, and we are flexible with the minimum word count within reason. We accept simultaneous submissions, but please keep us posted about the status of your submissions to other publishers with respect to manuscripts that you submit to us. We do not accept multiple submissions, so please wait for a response on one manuscript before you send us another.

We will not look at manuscripts that are sent to us while submissions are closed. If you submitted something to us during a closed period, please resubmit when submissions reopen. 

How to submit

Prepare the following email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. :

• Put your last name and the title of your manuscript in the email subject line.
• Put your manuscript's word count somewhere in the email body or subject line.
• In the body of the email, include a query letter, not to exceed 300 words. Please write your name at the bottom of the query letter.
• In the body of the email, after your query letter and name, include the first 2000-5000 words of your manuscript.
• Attach to the email a summary of the manuscript you are submitting, not to exceed two pages.
• Attach your entire manuscript to the email, formatted as described below.
• Send it!

Manuscript format

• Microsoft Word (.doc) or Rich Text (.rtf) format
• A cover page with your real name, mailing address, email address, manuscript title, pseudonym, and approximate word count
• Real last name, title, and page number in the upper right of each page except the cover page
• Times New Roman 12-point font
• 1.5 line spacing
• 1-inch margins all around
• A pound sign (#) centered on its own line to separate scene breaks
• No empty lines between standard paragraphs
• Page break before every new chapter
